It seems to me as a species we like to play games, especially games that let us boss people around. The more insecure one is the more control one seeks.
From the start, we are encouraged to identify our being with limited ideologies. This in turn segregates humanity by creating “teams.” Once you choose one team the other teams inherently become your competition. Each team wants to be the “winner” because the participants within the team believe themselves to hold the bottom line truths about the world; it is not until the players transcend their team’s truths that they might join (or are encouraged to join) another team more inline with their new set of truths.
In this way, we are taught to see ourselves competing with one another using a multitude of separative concepts (i.e. ethnic identity, socio-economic status, religion, profession, political affiliation, nationalism, and other “-isms”). What is often left out are the fundamental concepts which allow us to reconnect with others; the little reminder that we are all human beings seeking love in our own individual way on a shared planet with a finite amount of time. So does it not seem more reasonable to live in harmony with your fellow man than to play these mind games? Probably, but the problem is most don’t even realize they are playing a game. Recognizing one’s game is the first step to cleaning one’s perceptual lens. And we hold the capacity to show as much understanding as we can - it is always a choice.

Unfortunately, I think society has these standards for “normal,” or what they consider normal, and anything outside of that is unacceptable - based on nothing, based on air. Jane Elliot Exposing White Supremacy
So last night I saw a video of an experiment by Jane Elliot called “The Angry Eye.” I watched this experiment over and over, to be sure that I caught every detail and didn’t miss anything. For hours, I tossed and turned just thinking about all the whole experiment, and how watching these two short clips has practically changed my life. It was so insightful, and I learned so much as a White person in society. Until last night, I don’t think I’ve even been able to half-grasp what it must be like to be of color. This experiment that she performed was such an eye-opener, and the way she related breaking down White Supremacy to the five stages of grief was true, intelligent, even genius.
I think every White person in America needs to sit down, shut up, and listen to exactly what Jane Elliot has to say. Sadly, many comments made under Jane Elliot’s video were aimed toward preserving White Supremacy, obviously by White people. And the problem here is that many Whites cannot see past their Vanity. Furthermore, if it was not in your interest to preserve your vanity and our White Supremacist society, you would stop arguing about whether it is valid for her to be exposing White Supremacy. It exists, whether you are going to acknowledge the fact or not. And if you don’t acknowledge the fact, then you are part of the problem, not solution.
Jane Elliot states, “White people’s number one freedom in the United State of America is the freedom to be totally ignorant about those who are other than White. We don’t have to learn about those who are other than White. And our number two freedom is to deny that we’re ignorant.” Here, she elaborates that as White, privileged members of society, we have the freedom to be ignorant, deny our ignorance, and as she later infers in her video, preserve it! Let’s think about that for a minute. What a tragedy. And what an even greater tragedy it is that so many White people after watching this video are yet STILL aiming to preserve White Supremacy (as indicated in the comments below the video).
So I recommend that all privileged members of society take in this video and internalize it. Let this be a learning experience without trying to preserve vanity and White Supremacy.

Last Note On “Yeah, I have No Tolerance for Racism either.”
I think that sometimes people don’t understand the whole story. And I will admit that I am not perfect, neither is anyone else for that matter. I believe in treating people as individuals. I don’t believe in judging people based on their skin color before I get to know them. I acknowledge the fact that blind White supremacy and racism exists. No matter what you say, assuming that I am racist before you meet me is wrong. Why? Because I check my privilege, I work against against people, media, and everything else that promotes it. And this is where racism is really a problem, because you judge someone solely based on their skin color. If you are Black, I’m sure you are very familiar with racism. You know what this is like. I believe that ignorance can be cured, but stupidity/racism is wrong. Because when you are racist you are actively avoiding, intolerant, hateful of a group of people based on skin color.
You can try to mask your ignorance in any way you want, but anyone that isn’t consumed with the idea of pride will seek knowledge rather than constantly trying to prove their worth.
I believe so strongly in the power of love, forgiveness, and God. I believe that we can grow strong in God’s love. It’s not about proving we are better than anyone else, it’s about working together, loving each other, creating unity. Just because you came across some, or even many bad apples, it doesn’t mean you should avoid all people as a group. And you know what? That’s okay, because at the end of the day if you want to shut me out of your life because I have White skin, that is your loss.

I came across a post on my dash, and stumbled across a sentence of something that sounded awfully familiar. It read, “I expect the books I read for school to be racist just like I expect white people to be racist. This way there is no surprise when they are, which is 90% of the time.”

Sure, its no surprise that content within books, especially when it comes from history books, is racist. But when you directly state that you EXPECT all White people to be racist you are engaging in what is called the self-fulfilling prophecy.
In Psychology, a self fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that one makes, which inevitably directly or indirectly causes itself to become true.
Though I do not usually trust Wikipedia, I do believe it stated the definition finely.
The self-fulfilling prophecy is, in the beginning, a false definition of the situation evoking a new behaviour which makes the original false conception come ‘true’. This specious validity of the self-fulfilling prophecy perpetuates a reign of error. For the prophet will cite the actual course of events as proof that he was right from the very beginning.
Many people who declare prophecies that are not true are often thought to be delusional, but in many cases that is not the case, as a delusion is an impossible or fantasy belief. In other words, a prophecy declared as truth when it is actually false may sufficiently influence people, either through fear or logical confusion, so that their reactions ultimately fulfill the once-false prophecy.
